Trip to Florence
The Oxford-based travel company, Learn Italian, is arranging a study week in Florence 15-21 November 2010. It will be led by Patrick Doorly, who is currently giving an excellent series of lectures at Oxford University's Department of Continuing Education on Virtu in Six Renaissance Masters. The trip will be devoted to studying Masaccio, Brunelleschi, Donatello, Luca della Robbia and Lorenzo Ghiberti.

Welcome to the Renaissance
The three novels of The Botticelli Trilogy cover the years 1470-1498 in Florence and tell the story of a boy growing to manhood in the age of Lorenzo the Magnificent. He is caught up in the Pazzi Conspiracy, a visitor to Botticelli's workshop when the Primavera is being painted, a fledgling scribe at the time when the printing press is coming into use. It is a story of our time set in the past.
